Since March 27, 2026, Bella Posta in Oberbozen has reopened its doors. But this wasn’t simply about renovating what was already there. It was about rethinking it.
Not bigger. Not louder. Just lighter.
Two buildings, one idea
Bella Posta brings together two long-standing buildings of the area. The main house – once a farmhouse, an inn, and later a hotel with its own post office – was a lively meeting place on the Renon plateau. The former Villa Victoria, now the dependance, developed alongside it as a quieter retreat. For years, they were known together as Post Victoria.
Now, they begin a new chapter. Both buildings have been completely reimagined: clean architectural lines, warm colours, a subtle retro touch and a strong sense of openness. The result is no longer a traditional alpine hotel, but a place that approaches hospitality differently. Or simply put: two buildings, one atmosphere.
Less schedule, more freedom
Many holidays follow an unspoken plan: breakfast at a set time, spa slots, dinner reservations. At Bella Posta, it works differently. The day begins without rush. Maybe with a coffee on the terrace, maybe later – breakfast will still be there. The rest unfolds naturally: a slice of crostata, a swim in the pool, a glass of wine in the afternoon. And in the evening, honest Italian cooking and conversations that last longer than expected.
At the core is a simple idea: a lighter kind of all-inclusive, without rigid structure, leaving space instead. No fixed schedules. Just your own rhythm.
Dolce Vita, effortlessly
“Dolce Vita All Day” is what they call it. It sounds like a big idea – but it’s built on simple things. Breakfast until 11, small sweet and savoury bites throughout the day, an afternoon aperitivo and a relaxed dinner in the evening. Much is included, but nothing feels structured. It’s not about perfection. Nor about staging experiences. It’s about the small moments that shape a day: a slow breakfast, a spontaneous aperitivo, the feeling of not having to be anywhere else.
Everything is there. But nothing is imposed.
Between two worlds
Up here, the feeling is immediate: calm, space, nature. A garden, old trees, views stretching across the valley. And yet, the city is close. The cable car takes you down to Bolzano in just a few minutes – right into arcades, cafés and everyday life. An espresso, a stroll, and then back up again, to the quiet.
The transition feels effortless. And that’s exactly what makes it special.
What stayed – and what changed
Behind Bella Posta is the Holzner family, welcoming guests on the Ritten high plateau for generations. Much has remained: a sense for atmosphere, a respect for what exists, a certain way of hosting.
And yet, something has shifted. Away from the classic alpine hotel. Towards a place that feels more open.
And what does it feel like? Maybe like this: Arrive. Put your bag down. Step outside for a moment. Breathe. Later, a walk through the garden, maybe a swim. No plans for the day – and no need for them. And in the evening, that quiet feeling that nothing was missing.
Not because everything was organised. But because everything was simply there.
And maybe that’s exactly why Bella Posta is now a place people return to.
